HOKA ONE ONE Arkansas Razorbacks Football Media Day: 7 Storylines to Watch
Press Release: 140 athletes, five head coaches, two ADs, one host campus and one historic event venue made for an exciting day on the UA campus.
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The annual HOKA ONE ONE Arkansas Razorbacks Football Media Day brought together 140 Razorback student-athletes, five head coaches, two athletics directors and hundreds of media members from across the nation to Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium and the Fred W. Smith Football Center, Monday. This marks the 10th season Arkansas has hosted its media day inside its state-of-the-art football operations building and the third year it has been held at Reynolds Razorback Stadium.
Storylines to Watch
1. A Different Look, Same Goal
Arkansas unveils new uniforms, which will make their on-field debut in the season opener against Cincinnati on Sept. 3. Specifics on the new uniforms will be released Friday at 1 p.m. CT.
2. Expectations Are High
The Razorbacks are picked to finish second in the SEC West by the media, and are bringing back a 10-win squad from a year ago. Kickoff is 3 p.m. Saturday on ESPN.
3. Preseason All-Americans
Jalen Catalon, Bumper Pool and Bryce Stephens have all been named to preseason All-America teams. Catalon was a consensus first team All-American last year.
4. New Faces in Key Spots
Arkansas has several new faces in key roles, including Jadon Haselwood and Matt Landers at wide receiver and transfer Drew Sanders at linebacker. Look for others to step up as well.
5. A Historic Coaching Staff
The Razorbacks have one of the most experienced coaching staffs in the country, led by Sam Pittman entering his fourth season. Barry Lunney Jr. is also entering his fourth season as the defensive coordinator. Kendal Briles and Dowell Loggains are both in their second seasons as offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach, respectively.
6. A Primetime Opener
Arkansas will host Cincinnati in a nationally-televised game on ESPN to open the season. Cincinnati is coming off a 13-1 season and a trip to the College Football Playoff.
7. A Challenging Schedule
The Razorbacks have a challenging schedule in 2023, with games against Alabama, Georgia and Texas A&M. They will also play at BYU and Liberty.
