BJP's Ambition to Surpass 400 Seats Dims
Kerala and West Bengal Crucial for Party's Success
The Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) ambitious slogan of "Abki Baar 400 Paar" (This time surpassing 400) has started to fade as the results of the Lok Sabha elections slowly emerge.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had confidently declared that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), led by the BJP, would cross the milestone of 400 seats.
However, the party's hopes now hinge on the performance in two key states: Kerala and West Bengal. In 1984, the Congress party won a remarkable 13 of Kerala's 20 seats and more than half of West Bengal's 42 seats. These states could now be the deciding factor in determining the BJP's ability to achieve its "Abki Baar 400 Paar" dream.
